March 2019: Tips, eNews & More!

As we hope for warmer weather in the month of March, exciting things are up ahead! March Break is just around the corner - a week for spring cleaning, fun with the kids, and also a great time to come in for a cleaning or check-up if we haven't seen you in too long!

March is a great time to start getting fit for the summer, so it is appropriate that March is National Nutrition Month and this year, the theme is 'Unlock the Potential of Food!' Proper nutrition is integral to overall health and vitality. The foods you choose to eat also impact your oral health from the moment you put them in your mouth. Learn more about nutrition month at the Dietitians of Canada website nutritionmonth2019.ca. And be sure to check out this month's recipe, featured from that site.

PS: Thanks to those who have completed our Patient Satisfaction Survey! As always, we appreciate your feedback and will incorporate your satisfaction into how we can improve. Everyone who participates will be entered in our draw for a chance to win one of three ORAL B 5000 ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSHES! And if you haven't submitted yet, don't fret! You can still do so here.

Have a happy and healthy March,

Do you want straighter teeth without the hassle of metallic braces?

At Hillcrest Dental we offer Invisalign as an alternate to metallic braces. These clear aligners are offered by Dr. Lauren Friedman.

Dr. Friedman received her Honors Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Western Ontario. On receiving the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry Graduate Scholarship she completed a Master of Science in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Dr. Friedman has a keen passion for improving patient education and access to dental care. Participating in the Jamaica Dental Outreach program, she found offering free dental services in Jamaica a very rewarding experience. While living in Florida, she also volunteered for Give Kids a Smile program providing free dental care to children in the community. She strongly values continuing education and is focused on updating her skills to always provide the best dental treatment to her patients. Patients love seeing her for her kind and compassionate approach to complete oral health.
